Many successful people have gone through thick and thin to grow their empire. Young people boost their attractive lifestyles, but little is known about the processes they had to go through before getting to such a height – so is the case of Sandile Shezi.
The South African-born millionaire was not born with a silver spoon; he grew up in the streets of Umlazi, a town situated in the Southern part of Durban, South Africa. He had a national diploma in Public Relations and Applied Communication at the Durban University of Technology.
Shezi didn’t have the best childhood experiences as he started selling muffins and used clothes in his school and neighbourhood when other children were still enjoying the comfort of their parent’s care. He also had to endure mockery that came from his peers (as he sold muffins and used clothes), but he didn’t allow that to get into him.
He started trading forex at a tender age; he traded forex with the profits he got from the muffins and used clothes selling ventures. Like many young entrepreneurs, he made many uncalculated risks which led to a series of losses, but rather than giving up; he set higher goals. Asides from trading the money from his business, he also traded the money that was meant for his school fees in the forex market – these risks paid off and have made him who he is today.
He became interested in business at a very young age, and that was when his entrepreneurship story started. It is generally believed that he had his breakthrough when he was twenty-three years old through forex trading.
He had a mentor, Geroge Van der Riet, who had been trading the forex market for 15 years.
What is Sandile Shezi Net Worth
With an estimated net worth of $2.3 million, many regard him as the youngest self-made millionaire in South Africa; this also has framed him as someone who has a successful currency trading career.
Aside from trading forex, he has other businesses like real estate, cryptocurrency, and so on. He has also continued to build other areas of interest like school development and health improvement services.
Global Forex Institute
Since he was still young in forex trading, he partnered with George Van der Riet to start the Global Forex Institute. The aim was to create financial freedom and address the high unemployment rate in South Africa.
The institute provides adequate training to everyone who is interested in learning forex. The institute offers lifetime mentorship to its students and has produced more than 10,000 successful students. Some years ago, some controversies befell him and his business.
It was said that he plagiarized some of his course contents and claimed that he wasn’t different from every bad trader who was only making money from selling courses.
Shezi denied this and also took his time to check and compare the said plagiarised documents; In his words, he said, “…I took it personally upon myself to compare the notes. I couldn’t find any correlation between the format and chapter heading at all. I did, however, notice some of the pictures looked very similar. However, this is a null point as we have spent the past year compiling a 300 page comprehensive training manual…”
There were also reports that his business partner was convicted for murder and drug dealings in the United Kingdom. He also denied that and said that: “George Van der Riet was involved in an altercation where a man sustained a head injury and died in the hospital three days later. George spent two years as a guest of her Majesty. He spent the two years studying and helping people become literate.”
Amidst all the controversies, Sandile kept growing.
